A new Auckland hotel is fast becoming a popular destination for eco-conscious dignitaries and business travellers wanting to lower their carbon footprint.

Auckland City Hotel, which opened just over a year ago, regularly hosts diplomats from Asia and South America, foreign corporate officials and is also a favourite among New Zealand government departments.

Recently voted ‘the number one four star hotel in Auckland’ by TripAdvisor.com and also receiving a number one ranking on popular booking site Expedia, Auckland City Hotel combines comfortable accommodation with environmentally friendly practices.

The green hotel is one of the first in New Zealand to use the latest generation energy efficient LED lights in its hotel lobby, which run on only 3W of power compared to the normal 50W used by halogen light bulbs.
