Kiwi Netball Star Adine Wilson Nets Olay Campaign

Press release; Kiwi Netball Star Adine Wilson Nets Olay Campaign – one of New Zealand’s most well netballers is to front a campaign for a global skin care brand.

Kiwi sports star and former Silver Fern captain Adine Wilson has been selected by the world’s number one facial care brand Olay* to front its new campaign.

Wilson, who captained the Silver Ferns in the Wing Attack position during their gold medal victory in the 2006 Commonwealth Games, will promote Olay’s Total Effects Moisturiser with SPF15 – in a Trans-Tasman campaign.

Wilson says she is thrilled to be working with Olay on the new initiative.

“The journey from netball to mum to Olay Ambassador – the time has gone very quickly and I feel very humbled to have this opportunity in my life.”

Now a mum of two, Wilson says the product resonated with her due to its multiple skincare benefits and convenience.

“My daily routine especially being a mother of two is busy. In the morning I get in the shower, cleanse the face and get the moisturizer on. The great thing about Total Effects SPF 15 is that it has the SPF so that I know I have sun protection when I am out for the day.”

Olay spokesperson Jolie Egan says the company is eager to build a long term platform to support and drive awareness of netball across Australia and New Zealand at both professional and grass roots levels.

“This partnership with Netball Australia and New Zealand’s Adine Wilson is an exciting first for Olay and will illustrate our desire to support a sport that encourages women in both countries to showcase their athletic skills and team spirit both nationally and internationally,” says Egan.

To launch the campaign, Olay sponsored the 2010 Holden Netball Test Series in August which saw the Australian Diamonds take on Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls and the New Zealand Silver Ferns, as part of their preparation for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Netball Australia Chief Commercial Officer, Marne Fechner, says the sport is thrilled to partner with a brand such as Olay.

“With the majority of our audience being women, the partnership will connect on a higher level with thousands of women who are avid fans of Olay and also share a love for netball.”

Australian netball ambassadors for the campaign include Goal Shoot Catherine Cox, Goal Keep Laura Geitz and Centre/Wing Attack Natalie Von Bertouch.
