Struggling Hamilton Charities Given Timely Boost

Media release; With the recession still gripping the country, struggling Hamilton charities given timely boost thanks to local Domino’s Pizza outlets.

Community groups in Hamilton are hundreds of dollars better off thanks to the generosity of Domino’s Pizza stores in the city.

Domino’s Pizza in Hillcrest and Rototuna have donated a combined $1645 to charities and groups including the Cancer Society and the Waikato Family Centre through Doughraisers held at the two stores in the past year.

Store franchisees Anton Pires and Arran Clement say they have a dedicated team that have worked tirelessly this year to make sure that every recipient of Doughraiser events goes away with enough money to make a difference to their group.

“We know that in these tough times every dollar makes a difference, so naturally we’re delighted to be able to make this contribution to groups that are struggling to make ends meet or to charities like the Cancer Society that work so hard to make a difference to the lives of those affected by this terrible disease,” says Mr Pires.

Domino’s New Zealand General Manager Josh Kilmnik says the company is committed to building community relationships through various programmes such as Doughraisers and Customer Appreciation Days.

“We firmly believe that charity begins at home and it’s only right that we support those who have in turn given our stores such incredible support,” he says.

Struggling community groups can rest assured that Domino’s Pizza Doughraisers will be back again in 2012, contributing more money to deserving groups up in the Hamilton region.
