MEDIA RELEASE

Domino’s annual Australasian award ceremony sees Chris Wood or Napier City store claim the title of Franchise Manager of the Year.

Don MeijThe Hawkes Bay region’s passion for pizza has seen two of its stores secure a slice of the action at Domino’s Pizza’s annual Australasian awards.

Domino’s Pizza Australia and New Zealand Rally Awards 2013 have named Hastings City store owner Chris Wood the Franchise Manager of the Year.

Wood’s Napier City store also topped the Franchise Store Highest Operations Evaluation Report (OER) Average and Australia & New Zealand Highest OER Average award category.

In each of these categories Wood and his teams surpassed all the other New Zealand and Australian competition.

Wood says he is thrilled to have won the Franchise Manager of the Year for the second time, having previously won the prize in 2011.

“It’s fantastic to be recognised for all your hard work among your peers. This truly proves that we know and love our pizza in New Zealand as much as our Aussie counterparts across the ditch,” he says.

“I believe the key to managing a successful franchise is to value and encourage your team members to install a high level of passion in them so that they enjoy their work,” says Wood.

Domino’s Chief Executive Officer, Don Meij, says that the Napier City store runs extremely efficiently under Wood’s guidance.

“Chris’ commitment and outstanding management skills makes the Napier City store one of the most well run in Australasia. His operational expertise makes him a true leader in franchise management in New Zealand and Australia alike,” he says.

The Franchise Manager of the Year award is given to the franchise manager who performed best in Australia and New Zealand over a 12 month period.

The Franchise Store Highest OER Average and Australia & New Zealand Highest OER Average award recognises a store’s successful management on an operational level.

The Rally, which was held last week in Brisbane, celebrates the efforts of Domino’s employees, bolstering team morale and rewarding success by recognising team members who consistently reach extraordinary sales and operational performance while also motivating others to reach the same level.
