MEDIA RELEASE

Domino’s New Zealand opens new store in Mt Manganui, as demand for delivered pizza grows.

Scott Bush, new Domino's GM.Auckland28/8/13The opening of Mt Manganui’s first Domino’s pizza store has created 20 jobs as it meets the local demand for deliveries.

Until now, Mt Manganui residents have travelled to Tauranga to pick up their Domino’s orders, as the city is not included in the delivery area for the Tauranga outlet.

The General Manager of Domino’s Pizza in New Zealand, Scott Bush, says he is thrilled the new store will enable Mt Manganui residents to have their orders delivered to their door.

“Locals will be able to enjoy faster and hotter pizzas with the opening of the city’s first Domino’s outlet,” he says.

“This also means residents can make better use of our new online ordering system, which is proving popular among customers nationwide.”

Bush says the continual refinement of the company’s online ordering system has seen its web ordering increase in the past few months. He predicts the number of Kiwi sales processed online will grow from 50% to 80% within the next three years.

Bush says the new Mt Manganui store will also meet the needs of local customers who value the face-to-face experience when placing their orders, he says.

“For those who enjoy interacting with the company in-store, this new outlet will mean they can now visit an outlet close by,” Bush says.

“Customers who prefer to put the money spent on the convenience of a delivery towards their order will also have an easier pick-up option,” he says.

Bush says he is pleased to be able to offer 20 new jobs to the local community in Mt Manganui.

“It’s fantastic to be able to support the growth of the local economy by providing more employment opportunities in the area,” he says.

Domino’s Pizza recently launched its new online ordering platform to facilitate the expected growth of digital sales.

The new site has shortened the time taken to place an online order, while also removing the need for customers to install the Flash application.

Additional features of the refined online ordering website include changes to the address entry functions, more ways to get offers, menu layout, half n half pizza design, apply voucher layout, swap buttons, basket layout, a redesigned Live Pizza Tracker page and the conversion to an ‘Entice’ look and feel.

The Mt Manganui Domino’s at the Bayfair Shopping Centre will open in mid October.
