Rinnai helps Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ) out with a $15,000 investment, used to create a self-sufficient base they need ahead of the America’s Cup.

20130614_144210A $15,000 investment has helped Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ) create the self-sufficient base they need in San Francisco, ahead of the America’s Cup.

The supply of six Rinnai INFINITY® continuous flow gas hot water heaters valued at $15000 will give the team a huge advantage, helping them recuperate after each long day on the water.

Managing director Grant Dalton says the team relies on such support to be able to compete on the world stage, and allows them to focus on giving each performance their best. “Contributions like this are invaluable in arming us with the capability to compete on an international stage. They do wonders for the confidence of the team, showing us that Kiwis are investing in our success,” he says.

“Knowing they have a hot shower to look forward to after an exhausting and cold day on San Francisco Bay helps keep the sailing team going. We’ll no doubt have the best-looking shower block of all the teams competing in the Cup!”

The INFINITY® continuous flow gas hot water heaters, provided by Rinnai, were built into modified shipping containers in New Zealand and shipped to San Francisco, where ETNZ has established their base in the wharf area

Five of the gas hot water heaters have been supplied for the showers, and one for the kitchen, providing all the hot water required for the team.

Rinnai has supported ETNZ by donating outdoor heaters and barbecues for past campaigns including the America’s Cup held in Valencia. The company’s Managing Director, Ray Ferner, says company is proud to support one of New Zealand’s greatest sporting teams.

“The ETNZ is a world class team which deserves a hot shower and hot food after a day competing. The last thing they want to worry about when they’re out on the water is their hot water running out at the end of the day, and by giving them some Rinnai INFINITY® continuous flow gas hot water heaters, we’ve ensured that won’t happen,” he says.

ETNZ will begin race season next month, concluding with the America’s Cup in September.
