NZ Food Retailer’s Growth Creates 500 Jobs Nationwide

Posted by

Domino’s Pizza have announced an additional 500 positions have been created throughout their New Zealand stores. The growth has been caused by an increase in online ordering and recent cold weather leading to more deliveries.

The cold snap has consumers ordering in, with a leading pizza companyDomino's Pizza forced to create 500 new jobs to meet the nationwide demand for delivery of its products.

The General Manager for Domino’s Pizza New Zealand, Josh Kilimnik, says the company requires more pizza delivery drivers to meet the increasing number of digital delivery orders.

Kilimnik says the cold weather coupled with the company’s improved online ordering system has seen an increase in the number of customers wanting their food delivered to their door.

“Our customers are increasingly placing their delivery orders through their desktop or mobile and now that it’s got cold we’ve had to grow the number of delivery staff to meet these orders,” he says.

Kilimnik says the company needs an average of six more delivery drivers for each of its 84 stores, with this figure expected to increase as the company’s digital presence expands.

“Having additional drivers will ensure that we continue to deliver our pizzas to customers within minutes of cooking them and continue to meet their expectations on quality and service.

“We are also extremely excited to be generating 500 new jobs in the marketplace and are looking to fill these positions within the next three months,” he says.

Kilimnik says the company plans to drive further growth of its digital sales.

“Over the next three years we anticipate that the 50% of our current sales made digitally will rise to 80%,” he says.

Kilimnik says the business has continued to refine its online ordering system, recently launching a new site to make the process faster than ever.

Delivery drivers must hold a valid driver’s licence, and will receive relevant training, he says.
